The 9th Pacific Rim International Conference on Water Jetting Technology hosted by The Water Jet Technology Society of Japan will be held on November 20-23, 2009 in Koriyama, Japan. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for exchanging ideas among the relevant researchers and engineers about the new developments in the field of water jets, and to seek opportunities for collaboration among the participants. The conference will focus on the most up-to-date water jetting techniques and industrial applications under the banner of “Water Jet Technology for LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability)”.The conference is sponsored by VLN Advanced Technologies Inc., Canada; ECOBOND Co.,Ltd., SUGINO Machine Ltd., Japan; and supported by College of Engineering, Nihon University.

The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for exchanging ideas among the relevant researchers and engineers about the new developments in the field of water jets, and to seek opportunities for collaboration among the participants. Venue information
Koriyama is located at the central area of Fukushima Prefecture in the North-Eastern part of Japan. Fukushima Prefecture lies between 139 and 141 degrees east longitude and 37 to 38 degrees north latitude. It is closed to Tokyo, the capital of Japan and linking Tokyo with Tohoku. The prefecture is well-known for the natural scenery of Bandai-Asahi National Park (Mt. Bandai and Lake Inawashiro) and hot-spring resorts. Koriyama is situated between Tokyo and Sendai. It will take only 80 minutes from Tokyo to Koriyama by the Japan Railway Tohoku Shinkansen (super-express train). Fukushima Airport is located 20 kilometers south of Koriyama, and some non-stop flights extend to main Japanese cities of Sapporo, Osaka, Okinawa, as well as foreign cities of Shanghai, China and Seoul, Korea. It is very convenient also to visit Koriyama by utilizing flights to Narita International Airport in Tokyo or Kansai International Airport in Osaka from main cities of the world. |

Online Submission
Abstract Submission
Intended authors are invited to submit a one A4 page abstract (up to 300 words including figures) in English together with a completed “Submission Form” (available below). Please prepare your abstract in Rich Text Format or Portable Document Format and send electronically via e-mail no later than February 15, 2009. Papers will be selected on reviewing of abstracts. Proceedings of accepted papers will be issued formally as a set of printed volumes. The papers to be submitted should not be published or under consideration for publishing elsewhere.
We strongly encourage the submission of abstracts electronically, by clicking on the button “Submit an Abstract ”. If you prefer, abstracts can be sent by email, fax or mail to the Conference Secretariat.
The Online submission of abstracts has been closed. (Feb. 15, 2009)
Notification of acceptance or rejection of submitted abstracts was sent to response authors on Feb. 25 by Email. If you have not received one still, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Preparation of Full-length Paper
Authors of all accepted abstracts are asked to submit their full-length draft papers for review no later than April 30, 2009. Full papers are requested to be prepared according to the Author Guidelines, which can be downloaded by clicking on the button. The format of full-length papers prepared for electronic submission should meet the requirements of Paper Format and Style.
A template file in Word format is also provided here, and the authors are requested to use the template to prepare their full length paper for PRIC-WJT2009.
Submission of Full-length Draft Paper
Full-length draft papers should be submitted by one of the authors of the paper through the Online Paper Submission system. The submitting author takes responsibility for the paper during submission and peer review. Regardless of the source of the word-processing tool, only electronic PDF (*.pdf) files can be submitted through the OPS system.
Papers must be submitted on the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis). The authors bear full responsibility for the scientific content of their papers. If the authors use charts, photographs, or other graphics from previously printed materials, they should be responsible for obtaining permission from the publisher to use the materials in their manuscript.
The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that the paper's publication has been approved by all the other coauthors. Correspondence and the reviewing commitment will be sent to the author(s).
Once a manuscript has been submitted, it is considered that at least one of the authors pays the Registration Fee and one author presents the paper at the Conference. If one author has paid the Registration Fee, he/she is entitled to have maximum two papers included in the Proceedings.
In the case that no any author of a particular paper included in the proceedings has registered for attendance, the submitting author of the paper will be asked to pay a publication fee of 30,000 Japanese yen (50% Regular Registration Fee).
